I am thrilled. Out of all the 4 final candidates, Ivey impressed me the most. He knows what it takes to compete in a small Division I/Large Division II school. He was head and shoulders above everyone else. This is a guy I totally trust to hire the right Football Coach for the Lions. Here is the story live via KETR.org- http://ketr.org/post/new-athletic-director-am-commerce
Here is his bio via McNeese State University-http://mcneesesports.com/staff.aspx?staff=75 Reading it will make you thrilled.
That wind blowing? Not the typical rural Northeast Texas prairie wind we are used to. Those are the sweet winds of Change, my friends.
More on this later or tommorrow.
Go Lions…

We have been without a head coach too long lets get it done quick and make sure these coaches want to win we deserve to win now lets bring commerce texas alive
absolutely
Meh
Let me guess – one of the late 80′s guys who would rather have guys that have been selling insurance for the last 10 years as head coach? Or Cobb at AD, who was basically in the same kind of trouble in Alaska for shady financial moves like Carlton Cooper was at TAMC?
Grow up. It’s not 1989 anymore. If you want to have a say in things at Commerce, get involved. Stop trying to wait for someone you know to get in office so you can sneak in the back door with no effort.
Think he’ll do a good job. Of the four, he was the one I was most impressed with. Scarano and Talach were no brainers, Cobb would have continued to escalate damage that Cooper had already started. Interested to see who he goes after for football coach. Guessing with him being a young, energetic guy, that will probably reflect in who the football coach will be, which is fine with me. After years of laid back and low key Morriss, we need a young guy that will get after these guys. Too much talent to have the results we’ve had.
Im hoping that he will Lure Hal Mumme away from McMurry. That would be a huge step up for him and us. Mumme has had success every time he has been at a school that is DI-AA or smaller, and having that pass based offense and having Mumme calling them would bring a ton of passion and excitment to gamedays at Commerce.
